Viticulture
Quality begins with wine-growing
The expression of our wines comes from the microzones of Oltre Adige, Bassa-atesina!
Our philosophy and objective in the vineyards is to live a respectful viticulture, to support the natural cycles and above all to revive our soils. We are constantly working on this and with the common project of the Agenda 2030 we will achieve step by step a more sustainable cultivation.
We divide our vineyards into two concepts with the names of our 2 lines DeSilva and Amistar.
DeSilva: We work here in our old vineyards with the aim of letting the signature of the soil prevail.
Amistar: Here we are concerned with the signature of the family and thus the memory of our Spanish roots. Grandfather's aim here was to create exceptional cuvées or Gran Riserva's with a special signature using selected sites/varieties.

Oltradige
With its softly rolling vineyard gardens and proud castles, Lake Caldaro is the heart of Alto Adige’s wine country. Appiano and Caldaro are the two most important winegrowing communities. Today, the name of Lago di Caldaro or Kalterer See no longer stands only for Schiava (which proudly carries the name of the lake), but also for well-structured Merlots, Cabernets, and Pinot Noirs. At the higher elevations, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are grown.Vineyard area: 1690 ha (32% of province total)

The southernmost cultivation area of Alto Adige/Südtirol is also the largest and the warmest. Even late-ripening varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon yield balanced wines here. Interestingly enough, though, we also find Alto Adige‘s highest vineyards here. Near Magrè, Müller-Thurgau vines grow at over 1,000 meters (3,300 feet). The villages of Mazzon and Montagna are regarded as strongholds of Pinot Noir. And in Termeno, home of the Gewürztraminer, that grape is experiencing a renaissance.Vineyard area: 1860 ha (36% of province total)
